Whatever the symbol he'll always be affectionately known as just Prince to me. Nonetheless, The Artist formally known as Prince (try saying that after one too many cosmos) is back on the scene after a three year hiatus. Since performing three hometown shows 7/7/07; the Minneapolis born Rock star is once again conjuring his ultra, violet energy in promotion of his new self-entitled album. You know... watching the posh, funky style & bad ass performance that only Prince can bring to a stage is a welcome guilty pleasure. Well, fans we can look forward to a three night long Prince-fest prior to the album's release Sunday, March 29th! He has consecutive performances scheduled on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno from March 26 thru the 28th where he will rock new songs from the album. Prince is a triple-disc set. Each disc has it's own subtitle, Lotusflow3r", "Mplsound" & the third, "Elixer by his Minnesota protégé Bria Valente. Arguably, the album is a much needed musical, monotony-breaker from the current state of events- as the Rock star lashes topics such as the Wall Street bailouts, lyrically coined the phrase "the White House is black", and touches on racial issues in "Colonized Mind" and "Dreamer" (a song inspired by Martin Luther King). Clearly, this triple play is a "must have" in the CD collection. Speaking of current events... penny pinching? Well, aren't we all. Good news! Prince is being sold exclusively at Target stores for a thrifty $11.98! You can't beat it [no pun intended].
